Watertree Health MVP Spotlight: Charlie Peay

nassauContinuing Series…

Since joining Watertree Health® in September 2013, Charlie Peay’s territory has grown to include north Alabama, south-central Tennessee, and parts of Kentucky. He is one of the kindest, most genuine, extremely positive, and hard-working Reps, and for those reasons—among many more—he is our October MVP!

Prior to joining Watertree Health, Charlie spent nearly 20 years as a graphic designer In addition, he also marketed and sold a line of 8oz specialty sauces under the “Montego” label through national supermarket chains in over 20 states.  At one time in fact, Montego Honey Mustard was credited with becoming one of the top 15 selling condiments in the state of Florida, and could also be found on upscale grocery shelves in Atlanta, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Texas, California, Michigan, and along the East Coast. The dedication and drive that helped him succeed in the condiments industry has certainly carried through to his Watertree Health business.

When speaking with Charlie’s manager Eric, he shared, “Charlie is the cream of the crop. His persistence is beyond anything I have seen. For example, he once visited a single pharmacy 17 times before they used his card once. He just never quits & is extremely organized—I think that’s his secret to success. Plus, he always goes in with a smile and positive attitude.”

Charlie keeps up with every daily report, logs every single call and takes notes from every pharmacy visit, maximizing every opportunity for success.

“Sometimes, breaking the ice with that pharmacy who uses the card to help their patients just 1 or 2 times a day can be as exciting as the pharmacies that use it 20 times. Knowing that we’re helping just one more person is awesome.”

Charlie has spoken to many people whose lives have been touched by Make-A-Wish® and Watertree Health. He participated in a Walk For Wishes event in Mississippi and talks about Make-A-Wish every chance he gets.

“When you see a wish kid in person, it makes an even bigger impact and helps you understand the difference we’re making.”

Charlie is also a 2-time President’s Club member and has had the pleasure of meeting many other Reps at the 2014 Destin Summer Summit and 2015 Cruise to the Bahamas.bahamas

“The longer I’ve been around, the more I’m impressed with the company,” Charlie shared. “Even at the corporate level, everyone makes you feel incredibly welcome.”

“I truly feel that there’s not another company that would be more perfect for me. It really blended with my sales background and talents. I had successfully sold my honey mustard to Walmart, and now I’m working with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists at Walmart to help people afford their meds. North Alabama has always been near and dear to my heart, and it means a lot to be helping my community.”

Charlie emphasized how much he enjoys making friends with techs and pharmacists. “If that’s all I get to do, I’m happy to go do that. It’s all fun to me,” he stated.

When asking Charlie what his favorite memory of Watertree Health has been, he shared the story of his very first trip to Utah with Eric, his Director. Little did he know, he was in for an adventure—together with Eric’s Dad, they flew the family’s ultra-light aircraft high above Beaver, Utah, and also toured the nearby mountains up to 13,000 feet on Eric’s 4-wheeler. They also went fishing and enjoyed the beautiful state where Eric grew up.

“It was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had,” Charlie said. “Without Watertree Health, none of that would have been possible.”

Thank you Charlie for everything you do for your family, colleagues, and community. We appreciate that you lead by example, and your amazing talent and drive. Congrats MVP! WH_MVP_LOGO_web_large
