Hay Fever: What You Never Knew
In the past year, over 25 million people were diagnosed with hay fever, which is an allergic reaction to pollens and other irritants in the air.
How Can I Reduce the Symptoms?
Here are some steps you can take to reduce your hay fever:
- Avoid cutting your grass.
- Never camp or spend long periods of time outside when the pollen count is high. Vacuum your house regularly.
- Wear sunglasses to help protect your eyes.
- Turn on the AC instead of lowering your windows when traveling via car.
- Invest in an indoor air purifier.

Watertree Health MVP Spotlight: Ray Winepol
Ray Winepol, originally from North Carolina, has been a Watertree Health Representative for a little over a year in the Metro New York territory. Within that year, he has not only made remarkable strides in growing his own business and achieving President’s Club status, but he has also fully committed and integrated into the Watertree Health community, proving himself both a leader and team-player. He is constantly engaged with our internal social network, and recently traveled all the way to South Carolina to attend a Watertree Health Regional Summit.
As a loving husband and new father to his 8-month-old daughter, Michaela, Ray is constantly full of energy, excitement, and drive. To demonstrate, when he found out he would be the MVP Rep for April, he replied, “I may not be the most deserving, but I’m the most pumped! I’ve never lived or worked in a corporate world, and to have the light on me is so rewarding.”
Ray may be humble, but his growth over the last year is something to be proud of. There have been other reps in the New York Metro region, but it took a southern gentleman to teach his pharmacies the benefits our Prescription Assistance Program has for individuals and the overall health of communities. As Ray was building his territory, he wrote down a goal to fill as many scripts with his card in one day as he did in one month. At the end of March 2016, Ray reached that milestone, increasing over 25 times.
For many years, Ray thought he had a clear picture of his future running his family-owned jewelry company. He initially came to New York to study wholesale business, but soon after arriving realized that he was ready for a new chapter. “I have to give a shout-out to my wife. She was sick of seeing me miserable, and she saw my potential. She motivated me to take a chance, quit my job and pursue something that would open me up to find purpose outside of myself. The light has shined on me ever since I met her.”
Brad Sells, Ray’s Director shares, “When I first spoke to Ray, he told me he was just going to quit and move on. As a family man myself, I told him I couldn’t advise him to make that move. But about a month into Watertree Health, he knew—and was determined—to give 100% and make it work full-time.”
Since making the jump, Ray’s been able to enjoy a flexible schedule and spend more time with his daughter Michaela than he would have at his former job. “I get goose bumps talking about her. It’s been so rewarding to watch her grow, rather than hear about it over the phone.”
Brad notes, “There isn’t one word to describe Ray. He embodies all of the characteristics that we want to attract: positive attitude, discipline and determination, perseverance and a self-starter. He’s a wonderful person.”
“Everything he [Brad] has ever told me has been spot on. He’s always there to pick up the phone call or text. I like to think of him a little bit as family now,” says Ray.
As Watertree Health has increasingly affected Ray’s life in a positive way, he has been able to affect the lives of others by both helping people save money on prescriptions while giving back to Make-A-Wish. In fact, Ray is in the process of becoming a wish granter in his territory. Recently, his territory donated enough money to grant a wish, and he was a major contributor alongside Rich Rosen. “This company has helped me become a better person. Helping my community and the kids through Make-A-Wish has given me so much purpose,” says Ray.
Thank you Ray for all you give to your community, family, and our mission at Watertree Health. We’re lucky to have you on our team!
